FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Is it scary?
Yes. This isn't a theme park ride. The whole purpose is to scare you. We have searched long and hard for the 23 most terrifying room ideas so that you can get your adrenaline fix.
What is it, anyway?
Nightmare is a classic walk-through haunted house.
Will I be touched?
No one is going to grab you. All contact will be incidental and non-confrontational.
Is this appropriate for children?
NIGHTMARE is oriented for adults; it is not a kid-style haunted house! Only you know how bold your children are, but no one under ten (10) will be admitted without a parent or guardian. NO CHILDREN UNDER 7 WILL BE ADMITTED!
Is there a long wait?
Not if you buy a line-busting VIP HAUNT ticket, which lets you skip the lines for both the haunted house and the The Maze. Otherwise, tickets are sold in thirty-minute time slots. For instance, if you buy a ticket for the 7:00PM time slot, you will enter the house between 7:00PM and 7:30PM. Please arrive fifteen minutes before your scheduled entrance time. A limited number of VIP HAUNT tickets will be available at the box office. Once those are gone, no more tickets will be sold for that day.
Will I be able to leave the haunted house if it is too scary?
Yes, but there are no refunds.
I bought a ticket in advance, but can't make it. May I get a refund or switch my ticket to a different time or different day?
Sorry. There are no refunds or exchanges.
Can my group get a special ticket price?
Yes stay tuned for group sales info.
Is this handicapped accessible?
Sadly, it is not. There are just too many narrow passageways and unusual twists and turns to make it possible.
Are there stairs?
There are a few stairs at the entrance to the venue and a few more inside the haunted house.
Are there any other limitations that I should be aware of before
I buy a ticket?
Yes. The house is not recommended for people with back or heart problems, pregnant women, those prone to seizures, anyone with an affliction exacerbated by anxiety or fear, or those with mobility problems. Further, there are enclosed spaces and minimal climbing will be necessary during part of the tour. You should also know that STROBE LIGHTS are used in the haunted house. There is fog. It's also dark in there, just so you know. There are loud noises, too. It's supposed to SCARE you--it's a haunted house! Finally, management has the right to refuse entrance to persons who touch the actors, are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or who are unruly or violent. No refunds or exchanges will be given.
Anything else I should know?
Yes. NIGHTMARE is an interactive experience. You will be walking through the haunted house, there are stairs, uneven footing and varying ceiling heights in some areas, so remember to wear sensible shoes. There is no coat check.
How many people can go on a tour together?
A maximum of twelve. No exceptions.
Can you squeeze me in? Please? I came all the way from Hartford (Westchester/Long Island/ Yonkers)! I got my girl with me. It's her birthday. I know you said it's sold out, but can't you just be cool and squeeze us in? The people in the house don't care if they do one more group. Please? No.
How long does it take to go through?
That depends on when you can't take it anymore. Since the house is almost twice as big as last year, we expect the experience to last longer than last year's tour, which was between 18 and 25 minutes.
Is there a place to buy a drink or a snack at the venue?
Yes, but bring cash. There is no ATM and the bars don't take credit or debit cards.
